A Change of Pace

Tuesday, June 21, 2011 |

I celebrated my first day of summer vacation by going back into school bright and early this morning.

Yes, you read that correctly.

If you know me well, this doesn’t surprise you in the least. I just don’t do disorganized well … at all!!! This may sound on the edge of being committable but I cannot relax knowing that I have projects that are unfinished, piles, or shops half done. It drives me CRAZY. This in turn drives those in my life crazy.

Soooooo, back to school I went to put all to rest for the summer.

This is the second {or maybe third} load of “treasures” that I brought home this summer to clean, reorganize and store away. It’s a good thing my husband isn’t home to see this display ~ it spreads to every available surface in our living area.
He just doesn’t seem to understand the need for bins upon bins of classroom/teaching materials :)
Tomorrow morning I'll enjoy a leisurely cup of coffee with the paper on my patio and then I’m hitting the beach for some much needed quiet time. My beach bag has been ready to go for several days now. I can't wait for the change of seasons and a very enjoyable slower pace of life for the next couple of months.

*Is anyone else having trouble with blogger? I tried many times to post this last night and it wouldn't allow me ~ ugh!

You sound like one organized girl! I like to start things off on a clean slate, too. Now you can relax in the sun with no worries. Happy Summer!!

Yes, blogger as well a many other sites were having issues, so it's not you.
I can totally relate for the need to be organized to feel relaxed. If you are anything like me, or vice versa, this also carries over into your home life. I cannot go to bed at night if there are dishes in the sink, toys left around the house, or laundry to be folded. This type of, let's call it OCD, is absolutely necessary in my household. I have 5 children and if I leave anything for the next day, the house can, very quickly, get out of hand and look like a dump.
I know when to relax and have fun, but that only comes after business gets done. Hey that rhymed.
Enjoy your organizing and your beach time, both are important.

And I thought I was organized! Actually we got out on the 3rd and I have been back once already,

Again, your note and email were so needed! And I did feel I could blog a bit on how I was doing... I do feel a little better just being able to share a bit.

I can't imagine the bins I'll have when I teach! I already have been accumulating books and supplies, and I haven't even student taught yet!

I just found your blog and I love it! I'm going back to school to be a teacher next spring, so I'll definitely be reading up for tips.

Have a wonderful time at the beach and happy summer vacation! You deserve it!

I hope you enjoyed your time at the beach. What a great way to kick off the summer!

Good luck with getting organized...you'll enjoy your summer so much more knowing you'll be starting school in a good place next year.

Kids (the boys) are in VBS next week ~ I'm hoping it'll be a good time for us to finally catch up! It's been TOO LONG!
