I have been trying to find a *summer suit* for the past few months {yes, I said months}. I have ordered from catalogs, I have driven many, many miles to the nearest "real" mall, and I've forced my children to painstakingly watch the new suit fashion show each and every time a new batch enters our home. They are seeking damages for such torture!

Recently I went to Providence Place. Upon entering the first store, I felt the onset of nausea, chills and cold sweats! Seriously, you either have to be a size 0 with big boobs or settle for something the Amish are modeling this season {no offense to the Amish, they are lovely. Many families rented cottages down the beach from my grandparents and we looked forward to seeing them every summer}. It really doesn't help that my post baby body not only requires two different sizes, but two different styles as well! I've looked into vising my hips but apparently, this isn't a service plastic surgeons are offering.
The current victim {pictured above} is scheduled to arrive any minute. It's a JCrew suit that I ordered in black. If this doesn't fit, I'm moving to Alaska ~ no bathing suits required!

Oh my...

Bathing suit shopping can be very frustrating and force you to stop and buy a big chocolate chip cookie.

I love Lands End suits..they always are flattering.

That suit you've chosen is great!

Shopping for a suit is a nightmare. This year, I chose not to do it. I marched myself into Sam's club and grabbed a Speedo (for women) suit off the rack...it was fitted over an anatomically correct plastic form...guessing at the size. I took it to the pharmacy counter where I paid for it, and left the plastic form in the arms of the pharmacist. This year my strategy worked. The suit is one of the best I've ever owned. Go figure.

Ha!, Ha! funny post... You can run but you can't hide girl... I have family in Alaska, They wear suits! I do feel your pain though...I'm headed on a cruise in Febuary with high school friends and I'm determined to not be the one with the biggest butt! I've lost two sizes since March and would love to lose two more before we leave...I do feel your pain! Let us know how you like the suit...It is darling, xoxo~Kathy @ Sweet Up-North Mornings...

I love that suit and I do feel your pain in the swimming suit area! I find that a one piece works, I have had a speedo in navy and I can swim comfortably which makes me happy. Just in case this one does not work out, take a look at an athletic suit and swim some laps, blow some bubbles and rejoice in the glory of the water and the ability to flip, splash, and kick. Good goggles also are an added bonus and a fun swim cap!
I know each of us are secretly cheering for you, in that suit!

I like the suit in the picture. It looks like it does a nice job of hiding troulbe areas--like thighs.

Hi Jo,
Oh my goodness! I would feel sick going bathing suit shopping for sure. I haven't bought a new suit in years. I'm afraid I'm not the itty bitty size two I was when we got married ten years ago.

I do like the one form JCrew very much! I do hope it works for you.

Have a blessed day my friend.

Haha, well, I hope it worked out and that you are NOT searching real estate in Alaska!!
Also, you're better off finding SOMETHING as the Amish typically skinny-dip! :0 (lol)

Let us know if it works!! I have been looking for a new suit too...I could do a two-piece, but I need a tan on my belly to hide the stretch marks! :) If you like this bathing suit I may have to copy you Jo!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and commenting. I really appreciated it. I haven't bought a new suit in two years because of these sort of issues but the suit photographed is adorable. Loving the blue. :)
