of our winter ahead?

I had a completely different post planned to share with you this morning. I guess our fun weekend outing with friends will have to wait until tomorrow. Oh the suspense! :)

First snow 11-10 (3)

However, I wasn't aware that I would awake to a fresh coating of ice mixed with sleet. In fact, if it hadn't been for the bright blue ticker tape at the bottom of the TV screen, I'd be in the shower right now. My morning routine is to turn the news on first thing in the morning to get a brief update of what's transpired over night {doesn't that sound impressive? Honestly, I just need the weather report to confirm my wardrobe for the day} It was quite the surprise when I saw that we have a 90 minute delay due to this overnight surprise. Gifts come in all size and varieties!

Bentley had a rude awakening as well when his little paws greeted this white, cold, wet stuff.

I think the look on his face says it all ~ so NOT happy!

First snow 11-10

We were rather excited by our early winter treat. Bozley tried to play with Bentley. Not happening!

Bentley was on a one way path back to warmth. News flash buddy *** we live in the north, you'd better buck up! ***

By the way ~ why is it that you wake up "tired" but once you find out you have some unexpected free time on your hands, you have tons of energy and can't wait to start the day?

I'm using my gift of time to start a batch of soup for our supper this evening ~ the season of cozy has arrived in our home :)

Hope you're enjoying a fun start to your week!

That photo of your dog made me laugh! It is way too early for snow! Have a wonderful, warm, and soup filled day!

Wow so soon! We have had some mild flurries but nothing that has stayed on the ground.

Your poor dogs lol it's always a shock to the paws!

What is the 90 minute delay for?

Enjoy your free time!

My husband would be so jealous - he's ready for the first snow fall. Meanwhile, our temps are returning to the 70s this week. Love the expression on your pup's face - he's not having it, is he?

Bently is just the cutest and that face in the first picture says it all!
Sadly, I don't turn on the tv to see what's going on weather wise because no matter what, I still have to get up and go. One of these days they'll be a hurricane and I won't have a clue! :-)
As for your comment on my outfits, yes, I do have etsy, but just email me what you're thinking, sizes etc. and I'll email you some options. Easier to customize that way. slpreppy@gmail.com

Wow! We did not have that much white stuff on the ground! Ours was a slucs/sleet/hail/snow mix!

I've tagged you... It's a fun one... 15 of your favorite authors.

Oh my goodness, how stinking cute is your dog? If you ever need a "babysitter" for Bentley...my family is signing up for duty! Yes, it was a surprise today when I took my kiddies to preschool with a wintery mix falling from the sky. It made me smile though...time for winter outings!

Wow! I think there were some flurries in the "higher elevations" of NC, but (hopefully) no snow until after Christmas! I love the look on your darling dog's face--he is definitely offended by the early snowfall!

haha too funny. Napoleon never liked the snow either. Talk about "freeze." Still, the little dusting looks great on the pumpkin....and I would LOVE to look outside one morning to see snow....no such thing here; have a great week, Jo!!

Love the expressions

Hi Jo,

Oh your poor sweet dogs, they really must not like going out in the white stuff. How neat to be making soup and having some time to yourself.
Stay warm and enjoy your week

Hugs

OMW!!! At least it looks lovely in your pictures. We had some overnight freezes over the weekend, but it's back to low/mid 70s during the day!

I'm loving those pictures of Bentley. His expression says it all. I went to school in the Pacific Northwest and know all about waking up to a nice white surprise. It's not so much the snow as it is the ice. Getting into the car with the door frozen shut wasn't a lot of fun. However, living in hot humid Texas is no fun either. Last year I was getting attacked by mosquitoes while hanging Christmas garland across the garage. It's just not right. A happy medium would be nice.

I'm not sure how I came across your blog, but it is lovely. I particularly enjoy this post because it sounds so similar to how I feel. I can never think of anything in particular that I want for my birthday when asked because, like you, I usually buy the things I want for myself as well. Is that a bad thing? I'm trying to decide.
Happy Birthday
