These are the hidden treats of summer on the coast...
Seashells that are plentiful on the shore each and every visit.
~ and~
magnificent hydrangeas with massive blooms.
Instant seasonal beauty for the home!
My shells needed a little *some special* so I dressed them up for a dinner party.
I chose a few and gave them a little face lift.
Perfect!
{and SO inexpensive compared to Pottery Barn's}

LOVE LOVE LOVE anything with beautiful shells and starfish! These are beautiful!
Love this post! What great ideas. Thanks Jo!
Wow!!! Beautiful!!! Your home looks lovely and I love the spray-painted shells. That is genius! Love it!
How lovely! I enjoy creating spots around the house for the shells we've collected over the years. It reminds me of happy times at the beach!
Do you really find those on your beach?! Katie found a whole sand dollar (she calls it a seafish dollar) and we felt like we hit the jackpot! We can only find shells like that in the souvenir shops...perhaps sent from your shoreline?
Lovely, lovely images from your home. Been thinking of you and wondering how you're spending your days as a lady of leisure. :)
No lovely shell centerpieces being made over here...just a lot of crazy packing and unpacking and packing....
Take care!
Lucky girl, the shells are gorgeous! And the hydrangeas of course!
Coastal charms are lovely!!!! They look fabulous in your home and your flowers are gorgeous!!!

I love how you dressed those up! I have some things that need a little dressing... Our hydrangea were simply spectacular this year!
I love how you painted the shells silver. They turned out to be absolutely stunning. You have such a beautiful home.

Gigi
I see you comment on Lulu and Co and wanted to check you out. My husband just got back from deployment and is in the navy too. Love the metallic shells, I am seeing bronze for Christmas in my tree and tablescape.I am your newest follower come by and visit sometime.
I love the added glamor. Nothing says summer like shells and hydrangeas. :)
Hi Jo,
I also love the treasures that are found at the seaside.
Your shells and hydrangeas are so beautiful.
Happy weekend

Beautiful!!! I was going to put out my sea shells for decoration this year and then summer flew by too fast!! Next thing I know I'm thinking I should wait for fall decorations! lol.
Maybe I can sneak them in for a month or so! Your idea of the spray paint starfish is adorable.
