What a View

The scenery of California is so mesmerizing as we traveled through the countryside. The green is so vibrant against the golden dryness. The symmetrical rows of vines and plants, weedless acres of walnut trees and immaculate farming plots never seem to lose their charm.
{Perhaps it's because nothing in my yard comes remotely close to being so organized and I am envious!}

Gorgeous ~ natural beauty!
I could figure out a way to enjoy this everyday.

Paso Robles is just beautiful.
I should have inquired about summer employment for next year.
I'll gladly work for wine!

This gentleman gave us a private tour of his land ... breathtaking! We had the best time at his vineyard. If you were listening in on our conversation, you would assume we were related. Our conversation was so natural and flowed freely and easily.  In fact, I think we may have made plans to get together for the holidays. He's bringing the wine :)

{everyone we met in CA was equally as nice and friendly}

The letters on the barrels are the winemakers "gradings" of the wine at the current time.

Love the massive size of these doors and the attention they demanded when you approached the vineyard.

Just think how easy it would be to consume all your fruit servings in a day if you owned a vineyard! ;)

I'm so glad you had lovely weather. I was just wondering today if I could ever get up the nerve to go back to Paso after our accident. I'm kind of chicken to drive on the back roads again but it is so pretty there and I really did like the Tobin James winery and Opolo. :)

I'm long overdue for a trip to Cali, Jo! We didn't get to spend much time in wine country last time, so that is definitely on the list. The image that most people perceive as being California is not all the SoCal mentality, is it? I actually think that the northern part of the state is just so pretty, with its rolling green hills near SF, the rugged granite of Yosemite, the craggy cliffs along the beach at Big Sur.... Have I talked myself into a visit yet? LOL Loved seeing your wine country pics. Hope the holidays include your new friend!(or at least a bottle of his best) :-)

Totally a jelly bean. Napa/Sonoma area and even the CA Central Coast wine country are my favorites. We were trying to plan a trip out there this Fall but it's not going to work out :(

Yes, I think you'd love living in California, and it's just a hop, skip and a jump away from Portland.

Fantastic idea.

Glad you enjoyed your trip so much.
