Since the beginning of October we have experienced all four seasons in a matter of three weeks.
I never know what to expect from day to day.
We have had 80 degree weather which then turned to snow. A few days later it warms up and we have thunder storms.
Last night I was certain we were going to lose our roof. It was SO windy. At one point I looked out the front window to see the leaves flying off the trees sideways ~ I kid you not! This was followed by several loud claps of thunder. I actually jumped and let out a little scream, Bozely ran for his crate, and my husband continued to snore while "watching" the game.
Today we awoke to fall in all its glory!
I love how rich this red is against the green ~ it just pops. We have the most amazing stone walls in our area. They were built many years ago and are still standing. On the back of our property we have one that was build many years ago to mark a farm line that no longer exists. We could remove it since it is ours, but I would never want to dismantle our little piece of history.
I walk past this brook almost everyday. It's tucked away along a road that is rarely traveled. I love the soft murmuring sound it makes.
Had you stopped by this afternoon, you would have found me wrapped up in one of our adirondack chair reading one of my new books. This sweet spot is in our backyard.
Beyond this spot is what I refer to as the Wild Kingdom.
Seriously, some days I feel like Laura on Little House on the Prairie!
How would you feel if you look out your kitchen window and saw a Coyote?
I thought so.

Love those adirondack lounging chairs! Looks like the perfect spot to lounge on a warm Fall afternoon! The Laura Ingles reference made me smile ...coyote's in the garden :-)
Found your blog through Dawn @the feathered nest & it is lovely.
we're in the woods too! We see coyote, deer and little red foxes running through!
Hi Jo,
Our weather has been really changeable and sometimes there are four seasons in one day.
Your lounging chairs look wonderful and must be a nice place to relax and read. Love the Autumn colours.
That would be scary though seeing coyotes running about ... eek!
Happy week
Hugs
Carolyn
This weather is crazy isn't it?? The last two weeks have been all over the place. I don't know how to dress anymore.
A coyote.....really?? Yikes, that would freak me out. We have deer and fox, but I have never seen a coyote. Be careful!!

Your pictures are beautiful! New England should be dubbed the 'Region of Crazy Weather'.
To quote Forrest Gump, "You never know what your gonna get"
Fall is my favorite time of year. The colors, the crisp air. Warm dishes cooking in the kitchen. Your backyard is beautiful, by the way.
Love love love your fall photos! I am slowly getting there. I miss our summer so much though! Since we were in Russia for most of September, it felt like we went from summer straight to winter!
I love your reading nook! So quaint!
I think we may just be stuck in summer mode here...hehe
I will bring the mulling spice!
Your property look so pretty all the time!
xoxo Lisa
Hello there, I came over from New England Girl, read back to here, but just had to comment on oyur stone walls. They look very like walls in Connemara, West Ireland, where they're used as boundaries for farms. They're called dry stone walls, and have no cement or mortar, yet don't fall down.
Your blog is a great read!
