Bountiful blooms

I've been awaiting their beautiful arrival.
Peonies are my favorite flower.
Hands down, there is nothing to compare to their simple and elegant beauty.

Each year I add a new plant to our garden beds.
My goal is to one day have a lovely variety of peonies displayed in our yard.
To be honest, they don't last long outdoors before they are on display in our home.

Seriously, I am just like a little child on Christmas Eve awaiting the arrival of Santa.
I check my buds daily {several times daily} to see if there have been any changes or improvements since my last visit.

If there is the slightest threat of bad weather coming our way, I'm out snipping my little loves in fear of losing them to Mother Nature.

Nearly every room in our home features a bouquet in different sizes and colors.
Their light sweet fragrance is so subtle and welcoming.
Sadly, they are only here for a short time.
If only they grew year round.

* note to husband ~ if we move, they are coming with us!

Jo, I don't blame you, I would take those amazing peonies anywhere if I had t move! You must have a super-green thumb, yours are truly (and I mean this) the lovliest I have seen all season! In our next home I hope to have ample space to plant my own, but in the meantime I will admire your gorgeous blooms! :) Glad you had a weekend full of beauty! Thanks as always for your kind comments xxoox

They are lovely! Mine didn't last very long due to some rain and I wasn't smart like you to bring them inside. Enjoy!

Oh they are gorgeous. I only have one peony but I watch it closely too. Unfortunately this year as the blooms were opening it rained. I had hope that a hot day in the future would help, but no such luck.

Enjoy them!

I'm hosting a new meme called, "Summer Sundays". It's about what summer means to YOU! It could be glorious peonies. Hope you'll come and join us.

I love peonies too! Yours are simply gorgeous. I am so thrilled that they grow here in Ct b/c they sure didn't in LA (too hot!).

I totally agree. Peonies are unmatched. Yours are truly lovely. (Ever tried freezing them when they are just about to bloom and then taking them out later. It's a Martha trick.)

Jo,
I will help you with your roses if you will help me with peonies. You are magic! I killed mine 2 years ago and never tried again.
I got a lovely and very thoughtful note from you yesterday dated May 10th! I so appreciate you taking the time to "check" on me. I was feeling quite sentimental about Taylor's graduating when I wrote the May 5th post and many noticed. Big transitions with kids are tough for me but I'm getting better at thinking more about the future instead of back at the "what if's".
Thanks again for your dear friendship. xo Lisa

I am SO Jealous of those gorgeous peonies! We are lucky to have any at all! having worked in a flower shop I know how expensive those blooms are so I would be doing the same thing you are doing - snip and save!
