Memorial Day Weekend

{hubby tackling his lobster ~ not easy with plastic silverware}

Our holiday weekend was filled with activities, outings, and projects. I was able to check off several items from my list and spend some quality time with my husband. We even managed to get together with many of our friends through the course of the long weekend.

One of our standing traditions since we've moved to Connecticut is to enjoy the first lobster of the season on Memorial Day. It's the official kick off to the summer season for our family. Memorial Monday was a beautiful day and the lobster and cold Mystic Pale Ale made it even better!

It was ever so hard to get out of bed this morning. Why is it that when I wake up at 6am on a weekend morning I have tons of energy but during the week when the alarm goes off I feel like I've been hit by a semi and can't move?
Only 10 more days of schools ... if your counting ... I SO am! ;)

Hope you all enjoyed your holiday weekend.

Believe me, I am counting Jo. Do you work during the summer too or do you get to enjoy a slower pace? Hopefully it's the latter of the two.

What a fun tradition, the first lobster, love that picture.

And yes, I think the same thing - I wake up and am ready to go way before Lallie wakes up on the weekend, but during the week I have to DRAG myself out of bed. Why is that? Well, at least you'll be out of school soon! Yay for you!

I couldn't agree more about the early morning feeling. Your husband is so cute trying to get every last bit of meat from his lobster. :-)

Hi sweet Jo! Your hubby is too cute tackling that lobster! I am so glad it was such a lovely weekend for you. Hopefully one of these days I can take you up on your lovely offer to join you for a lobster party - I'll bring the Chardonnay, and my hubby will bring the laughs, the four of us could have a ton of fun! :) xoxox

Today was our last day... bittersweet as it was also Sumter's last day at my school.

Love that picture of your husband tackling that lobster. Very handsome!

Yay! You did it!! I'm so glad it worked--the photos look great! Doesn't everything look better LARGE? :)

I'm looking forward to trying that recipe in the above post--it sounds delicious!

And I am with you--counting the days until the end of school. June 17th for us--which feels late but sadly, we've had so much RAIN it doesn't even feel close to summer....

It's always fun to see your name pop up on the blog.
Take care!
Kathy
