Conservatories

Thursday, March 25, 2010 |
I have admired conservatories for many years.

Due to our long winters, this would certainly bring a little extra needed light to brighten our home.

While this is my first choice, I may have a hard time convincing my husband we *need* such a large addition .

This little would fit ever so nicely with the design of our backyard landscaping.

I love all the different design options within the English style.
When you really think about it, it's actually adding to the value of our home when it does come time for us to move.

I just can't decide if I want an attached or separate building.
Just think of the many hours I could spend {alone} in such a room.

Oh, the decisions to be made.

I'm allowed to dream ;)

Yes you are and I will dream right along with you. Those are wonderful pictures. I think that I would have to go with attached, not that you were asking, lol.

We are going through the same decision making process - we want to expand our kitchen as it is too small right now but it is so hard to commit!

They're so beautiful. I'd go with attached for bad weather, which you could just sit and watch go by...

Hi Jo,
These are beautiful! I just saw your comment over at Granny Smith Green. What kind of roses did you get? I bought knockout last spring and they were a breeze. Now all we need is one of these gorgeous conservatories!

They're ALL gorgeous. A friend's parents were given what they called "The Greenhouse" that looks like photo number one. They had it moved to their gorgeous yard where her mother is a master gardener. They have it completely fixed up with heated floors, 2 dishwashers for entertaining, and all of the glasses, plates, napkins, tables, etc. that you need for lots of parties! It is also a beautiful place to relax and read a book. I hope you have one one day!

They are all so beautiful! And since I am in MA, I am right there with you needing a little perk of spring/summer.

Gorgeous! This would help cure the winter blues. Aesthetically pleasing AND good for your health!

At first I misread the first sentence and thought it said "my" conservatories... then saw the photo! I was so impressed... LOL

Hope you are able to enjoy one of your very own one day. It could be your sanctuary...

I had the most beautiful "sun room" (not a true conservatory) with three walls of complete windows almost floor to ceiling in my last home in VA and I miss it SO SO SO much. I say if you have the room on your property go for the addition. You will use it more if it is connected to your house. I used to sit in there and read for hours.
It was beautiful in the snow too.

Hi Jo,

I don't believe this but I have just done a post on Conservatories too.
It would be a dream of mine to have one of these, one day.
Love all the beautiful ones you have shown.

Have a great weekend
Hugs
Carolyn
