Cute and Cozy

The weather is turning and we are in for some really cold weather this week. After the hideous rain {coming down in all directions} for most of the day yesterday our home had a damp and cold welcoming this evening. I started a fire and began my nightly routine. Within minutes our home was warming up and I was beginning to relax.

Because Bentley is still a puppy and ever so fond of our Christmas tree and decorations, I have to keep a close eye on him. At one point this evening he disappeared and I couldn't find him. He has a knack of becoming invisible. I looked every where for his wrinkly little body. He has learned how to climb stairs so I scoured all the bedrooms and baths on the second floor. No Bentley. When I was descending the stairs, I caught a movement from the corner of my eye. Our little fur ball climbed up onto the hearth and was lounging by the warmth of the fire. Once he saw the camera, he sat up to "pose" for a few shots. I really wanted to get him laying down. Too funny!

Hope you're keeping toasty warm on these chilly nights.

* My cookie exchange went smoothly and was enjoyed by all. I'll be posting those photos this week.

So cute! We don't have a fireplace (insert huge sad face), but some nights I put on a big space heater that we have (just for that extra coziness and warmth) and the dogs all crowd around in front of it. it's too cute to see... I'm sure they'd be the same as your little man if they had a fireplace, too!

What a cutie pie and obviously very smart. With this weather, I would be curled up right beside Bentley. Stay warm Jo.

He's grown so much! I love this pix! Our greyhound and kitties love the fireplace...the only time they will get close to one another! We have to roll them all over after a while though....hot, hot, hot!

Oh beyond cute! We used to have a basset hound who would sit with his nose practically in the fire. I love that Bentley posed for the camera- such a little ham!

So cute!!! Our mini dachshunds LOVE it when we turn on our gas logs (which is not often), but that is the first thing they do...cozy up right in front!

Bentley looks too cute! Last year Honey ate through several strands of lights on the tree and it was a disaster. I plan to watch very carefully with two puppies this year, esp since Biscuit is my gettin' in trouble dog. I posted this morning, I wish we had just a little cool weather. Wishing you a lovely cozy New England week, Jo!

I never get tired of seeing pics of your adorable pups! And your hearth looks so inviting. The weather has been miserably cold here, too. It's too early in the season to be this cold! Glad to hear your cookie exchange went well. :)

Oh that might just be the cutest dog I've ever seen. So cute you just want to hug him.
Great Christmas card photo if you can just photo shop everyone else in.

Jo, Bentley is such a muffin!! Oh my goodness, Katie would be nuts over him. He's so cute!

And the mantle looks beautiful! Love the color, and I see what you were saying. It does bear a resemblance to another mantle I know.... :)

This sounds like so much fun! I know you do it every year and when I read about it, I think.... I should try to host one of these. Well, it has not happened yet, but there is always next year!!

Happy Holidays Jo! I love your new blog makeover:)
